​Best-selling SUVs in India: This Maruti Suzuki model beats Hyundai Creta, Tata Punch

Maruti Suzuki Brezza jumped several spots to rank as the best-selling SUV in August 2024. In August 2024, the model ranked first with 19,190 units sold, reflecting a strong 32 percent YoY growth as compared to 14,572 in the year-ago period.​

Hyundai Creta

​Hyundai Creta, another popular model, sold 16,762 units in September 2024, recording a 21 percent YoY growth as against the 13,832 units sold in August 2023. Its consistent performance keeps it ahead in the crowded mid-size SUV category.​

Tata Punch

​Tata Punch, one of the most popular SUVs and the carmaker’s best-selling model, sold 15,643 units in September 2024, marking an 8 percent YoY growth. The model is available in petrol, CNG and electric powertrain options. ​

Mahindra Scorpio

​Mahindra Scorpio had a stellar month, with 13,787 units sold in September 2024, showing a robust 39 percent YoY growth. In the year ago-period, the Scorpio range managed to sell 9,898 units only.​

​Maruti Suzuki Fronx saw stable demand with 12,387 units sold, showing a modest 2 percent YoY growth. This Baleno-based crossover SUV has been one of the most popular models since its debut last year. It sold 12,164 units in August 2023.​

Tata Nexon saw a remarkable 53 percent YoY growth, with 12,289 units sold in September 2024. Nexon's safety and feature-rich package have made it a strong contender in the segment. Last year, the carmaker sold 8,049 units of this model.
