​Yamuna water enters Baby Taj in Agra

Baby Taj submerged

The flood​water from the Yamuna River entered the cells of Itimad-ud-Daula (Baby Taj) located on the eastern bank of the river, on Tuesday.

75% cells flooded

According to ASI officials, the riverside cells of Itimad-ud-Daula's tomb were filled with water, submerging around 75% of the cells.

Swollen Yamuna

On Tuesday, the water level in Yamuna River crossed medium flood level mark in Agra, reaching 499.2 ft.

​Taj viewpoint​

The entry points to the Taj viewpoint were closed by the Agra Development Authority after floodwater entered the Taj viewpoint park situated behind the Taj Mahal.

'Other monuments may get damaged'​

ASI officials also fear that other monuments such as Rambagh, Zohra Bagh, Kala Gumbad, Chini ka Rauza, and Khan-e-Alam might also suffer damage due to the flood.

​Yamuna floodwater near Taj​

After a gap of 45 years, Yamuna water touched the back wall of the Taj Mahal and submerged a garden behind the monument.
