JAIPUR: The mercury took an upward swing across the state on Wednesday, providing respite from shivering cold conditions. The Met office stated that mercury will continue to take an upward swing across the state except in places like Churu, Fatehpur, Sikar and Pilani, in the coming days.
However, during the last week of this month, there is a possibility of cloudy conditions and mild showers, the Met office here said.
Alwar remained coldest in the state on Wednesday where a minimum temperature of 4.5 degrees Celsius was recorded. People in Jaipur woke up to a comparatively chilly morning when a minimum temperature of 6.4 degrees Celsius was recorded. Since no fog and mist was present in the morning, air, road and rail traffic was smooth from Jaipur. In the afternoon, a maximum temperature of 21.2 degrees Celsius was recorded.
The Met office said that post January 14 a rising trend in the maximum temperature has been seen, but on Wednesday a slight dip was witnessed.
“Except for some places, including Churu, Fatehpur, Sikar, Pilani, the shivering cold conditions will gradually vanish from the state. The average minimum temperatures across the state would be around 11 degrees Celsius at majority of places in the state,” a Met officer said.
Alwar was followed by Sriganganagar where a minimum temperature of 5.5°C was recorded, Pilani 5.6°C, Sangariya 5.8°C, Sirohi 6.2°C, Dholpur 6.5°C, Churu 6.6°C, Jaisalmer 6.8°C, Jalore 7.5°C, Udaipur 8.2°C, Jodhpur 8.5°C, Bhilwara 9.8°C, Ajmer 10.2°C, and Barmer 11°C.
