LUCKNOW: The Kanpur edition of TOI Dialogues, to be organized on Monday, will be marked by a thorough analysis of the city's potential to fuel UP's one trillion-dollar economy dream, besides celebrating its strengths.
In his keynote address, advisor to CM, Awanish Awasthi, is likely to touch upon the strengths of Kanpur, such as its locational advantages, presence of business acumen among local traders, and availability of workforce.
He may also speak on the state govt's vision for Kanpur, besides sharing details about the kind of investment that has come up in the city.
The event, to be organized at Landmark Towers hotel from 5.30pm onwards, will feature two sector-specific panels to delve deeper into the overarching agenda shared by Awasthi.
Titled ‘Transforming Kanpur into a Thriving Economic Hub', the first panel will have CEO, Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority, Mayur Maheshwari, who will speak on the topic along with professor of business environment at IIM-Lucknow, Dr Sanjay Kumar Singh, director of Goldiee Group Sudeep Goenka, director of Singer India Limited and director of JK Urbanspaces Maneesh Mansingka, and chairman of MKU Ltd and chairman of CII Uttar Pradesh Infrastructure Committee Manoj Gupta.
The second panel will cover the intersection of Kanpur's cultural and cinematic legacies, with actors Anupriya Goenka, Amit Sial, and Zakir Hussain sharing their thoughts on Kanpur's contribution to cinematic talent, besides highlighting the city's role in nurturing actors, filmmakers, and creative professionals.
A rich palette of TOI Dialogues fireside chats – which are a characteristic attraction of the conclave – will also be a part of the evening. Padma Shri awardee and folk singer Malini Awasthi will talk about her journey.
Indian shooter and double Olympic medalist Manu Bhaker, actor and OTT star Divyenndu, and self-made entrepreneur Srikanth Bolla (chairman of Bollant Industries) will share various shades of their life with the audience.
