The Bengaluru Suburban Rail Project (BSRP) is progressing at its pace in different phases. Here's all you need to know about the 150 km Commuter Rail Network of the city.

The project will transform the city’s infrastructure. It will ensure comfortable and convenient travel for the dynamic people of Bengaluru. It will also boost economic activities.

Commuter Rail Network aims to establish a rapid rail network to link the main city to its suburbs and satellite townships. The network will also be extended to surrounding rural areas.

Recently, the Rail Infrastructure Development Company Limited, Karnataka received bids from three companies to supply coaches to the project.

Recently, the forest department gave its permission to remove about 600 trees that are there in the project's route.

The BSRP will have corridors in six directions which are - towards Devanahalli (Kolar side), Kengeri (Mysuru side), Rajanukunte (Doddaballapura side), Chikkabanavara (Tumakuru side), Whitefield (Bangarapet side) and Heelalige.

The BSRP will cover 148.17 km in four corridors and will have 57 stations.
