Erode Election Result Live Updates"The bypoll result is a rude shock to us. The AIADMK can be safeguarded and developed only if Edappadi K Palaniswami and his group are thrown out," Ramachandran said.
Talking to reporters at OPS's Greenways Road residence, Ramachandran said his group was deeply anguished by the poll outcome since the party was founded by late chief minister M G Ramachandran and strengthened by J Jayalalithaa till their end.
"An individual is responsible for this.
The party has suffered this downfall because of the arrogance, dictatorship and unfriendliness of EPS and his group. The party has been facing continuous defeats ever since EPS was given the post of chief minister and was made to steer it (the party)," Ramachandran said.
Earlier, OPS supporter V Pugazhendi told reporters in Erode that Palaniswami should meet OPS in Periyakulam and tender an apology for his mistakes. "There is no AIADMK without OPS, and the party cannot win without him. That is the lesson from Erode East bypoll," he said. Pugazhendi hit out at BJP state unit president K Annamalai for taking sides in the AIADMK split.
