Additional director general of police (ADGP) (Operations) Sanjay Lathkar stated, “The security of Birsa Munda International Airport in Ranchi is with the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). The new airports being opened under the ‘Udaan’ scheme would be under the charge of the Jharkhand police.”
The trainees, drawn mostly from the Jharkhand Armed Police, comprised an inspector, 10 police sub-inspectors, two assistant sub-inspectors and 29 policemen. They were taken to the Birsa Munda International Airport for practical training. They would undergo basic training in the next step and have to score 80 per cent to clear the examination.
