13-year-old drowns in Karnataka's Shambhavi River

UDUPI: A 13-year-old boy drowned in the Shambhavi River on Saturday. The deceased is Charan Raj, a class nine student.
According to a complaint filed by his mother, Charan had the half day off from school and was playing with other children around 5.30pm at Goldindi in Irvattur village when he accidentally slipped and fell into the river.
Local residents quickly rescued him and rushed him to Karkala Government Hospital at around 6.05pm for treatment.

However, doctors examined him and declared him dead.
A case has been registered at Karkala Rural Police Station.
