NEW DELHI: Four coaches of a goods train derailed near Boisar railway station in Maharashtra's Palghar district on Saturday, officials confirmed.
Despite the derailment, local train services remain unaffected and are operating on schedule, according to the Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of Western Railway.
"Four coaches of a goods train derailed near Boisar railway station in Palghar.
Railway officials are present at the spot. Due to derailment, there is no impact on local trains, they are running on time," said the CPRO, Western Railway.
Further details regarding the incident are still awaited. This derailment is the latest in a series of similar incidents involving goods trains recently.
On July 26, two wagons of a goods train bound for Angul derailed near Bhubaneswar railway station in Odisha.
On July 22, the rear guard bogie of a goods train derailed during internal shunting operations in the Ranaghat yard in the district, as reported by Eastern Railways.
On the same day, a freight train traveling from Alwar Goods Station to Rewari derailed on the Mathura track at approximately 2.30am.
Earlier, on July 21, another guard bogie of a goods train derailed in the goods ward of Ranaghat in the Nadia district of West Bengal during internal shunting.
On July 20, at least seven coaches of a goods train derailed between the Ghaziabad and Moradabad sections in Uttar Pradesh.
Railway officials are working to determine the cause of the recent derailments and to ensure that train services are maintained without disruption.
