PM Narendra Modi will inaugurate Gujarat’s first Greenfield Airport at Hirasar village on Thursday.
The newly built airport will be known as Rajkot International Airport, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) said in a statement.
The airport has been built at a cost of Rs 1,405 crore.
The airport is spread over an area of 2,534 acres out of which the AAI has constructed the airport in an area of 1,500 acres.
The airport has a 3.04 km-long and 45-meter-wide runway which can park 14 planes at any given point.
The passenger terminal is spread over an area of 23,000 sq.m. It can manage 1280 travellers per hour, during peak hours.
The facilities at the airport include baby care room, food courts, parallel half taxi-way and a rapid exit taxi track etc.
