NEW DELHI: Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), a Central University, will observe a half-day closure until 2:30 PM on January 22, 2024, as approved by the Officiating Vice-Chancellor in alignment with the Government of India's directive.
This decision extends to the University, its maintained institutions, centres, offices, and Jamia schools. Notably, scheduled examinations and meetings will proceed as planned during this period.
The notice issued by Mohd.
Hadis Lari, Deputy Registrar (Admn), JMI, reads: "The Officiating Vice-Chancellor of JMI, considering the Government of India's directive (vide Office Memorandum F.No. 12/7/2023-JCA, Government of India, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Dept. of Personnel & Training), has approved the closure of the University, its maintained institutions, centres, offices, and Jamia schools until 2:30 PM on January 22, 2024. This decision is in observance of the Ram Lalla Pran Pratishtha at Ayodhya. However, already scheduled examinations and meetings will proceed as planned."
