The Telugu action drama 'Devara Part 1' is set for its release in theatres on September 27. Directed by Kortala Siva, the movie stars Jr NTR, Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan in lead roles and the rest of the cast includes Prakash Raj, Srikanth, Sruthi Marthe, Narain, Kalaiarasan and Shine Tom Chacko. The music for it is composed by Anirudh Ravichander. As part of promotions, the makers have already launched the teaser, trailer, release trailer and four songs from the film. However, with the country tour promotions, the Hyderabad was kept as the last stop for the prevue event which got cancelled last night.
The event was cancelled at the last moment and the crowd became unmanageable. Sharing a video on Sunday, Jr NTR explained that he is deeply hurt over the cancellation of the event. Speaking in Telugu, he said, “I am deeply saddened that 'Devara’s event has been cancelled, especially because I was looking forward to it so much. I enjoy spending time with you and sharing many interesting details about 'Devara'. I was excited to share many details about Devara and explain the efforts put into the film. But, the event couldn’t happen due to security reasons. I share your disappointment. My pain is more than yours. In my opinion, it is wrong to blame the producers or organisers for the cancellation of the event.”
As the event was cancelled after all the fans reached the venue, they got berserk and even broke the chairs at the private hotel venue. As the crowd tried to enter the auditorium venue from all sides, worrying over a security breach, Jr NTR and director Trivikram Srinivas who was to appear as the Chief Guest at the event were advised to leave the venue over safety concerns.
The makers of the film also shared an official statement that read, "Even though it didn’t rain today conditions wouldn’t have been favorable for an outdoor event to happen even if we had planned it… The massive turnout of fans despite our best efforts became uncontrollable as barricades were broken due to the overwhelming crowd. For the safety of everyone we had to make the tough decision to call off the event. We understand that many of you traveled from different parts of the country to celebrate and see your hero. We hope everyone is safe and has returned home safely. We deeply apologize for the inconvenience and are truly sorry for the situation.”
