Panicked residents and office-goers rushed out of buildings on October 3 as strong tremors were felt in Delhi-NCR.

Reports of tremors were also documented in Chandigarh, Jaipur, and several other northern regions of India. The police control room in Jaipur conveyed that they had no information about any losses at that point.

The tremors lasted for nearly one minute. There were no immediate reports of casualties.

An NCS official stated that a 4.6 magnitude earthquake hit western Nepal at 2:25 pm, followed by a 6.2 magnitude quake at 2:51 pm. Two more tremors (3.6 and 3.1 magnitude) occurred at 3:06 pm and 3:19 pm, respectively.

According to the National Centre for Seismology, the earthquake's epicenter was situated in Nepal.

National Centre for Seismology official said the first quake of magnitude 4.6 struck west Nepal at a depth of 10 kilometre , followed by the 6.2 magnitude jolt. Two more quakes hit the same region at a depth of 15 km and 10 km at 3:06 pm and 3:19 pm, respectively.
