Life and farming are at a standstill in villages around a small forest in the middle of farmland in Haryana’s Jhabua in the state’s Rewari district, around 120km from Delhi, where a tiger suddenly took up residence on August 17. It left twice, but on both occasions, returned the next morning, either unable to find its way back to Sariska, its original home, or feeling threatened by human habitations along the route
KHIJURI (REWARI) On August 17, two days after celebrating Independence Day, freedom was severely compromised for people living around Jhabua, a small reserve forest.
In the woods with docile inhabitants like nilgai, chinkara and the occasional boar, a tiger walked in that day and made itself at home.
