Applying hair oil for hair growth can seem to be an easy process, but if not done correctly you’re only left with a greasy scalp with no benefits and results. Let’s take a look at the step-by-step guide on how to apply any hair oil for maximum hair growth.
Choose a lightweight hair oil or if using a heavy consistency hair oil mix it well with a carrier oil and then start the application. For maximum hair growth, you can opt for hibiscus, rosemary, castor, and coconut hair oils.
Almost 80 percent of men and women do not include an essential oil with their hair oil. Understand your hair type and add 4-5 drops of essential oils such as peppermint, lavender, or sandalwood.
Take your oil mixture and heat it for 10 seconds before using. Do not apply a hot oil mixture but wait till it gets warm and should comfort your scalp. Using warm oil penetrates deep into your hair cuticles and seals them keeping them moisturised.
Make 4-5 partitions and with your fingertips or a dropper apply the hair oil and then start massaging across the entire scalp for 10-15 minutes. After you’re done, gently work your way to the end and move on to the next step.
Again only 10 percent of women follow this step in which you simply need to tie your hair into a bun and wrap it with a warm cloth around your forehead. This causes your cuticles and pores to open up allowing for deeper penetration of the oil.
After an hour's stay or even an overnight stay, wash your hair thoroughly with shampoo and try using lukewarm water with a good shampoo and conditioner.
Never comb your hair after oiling as they are most vulnerable to break at this point. As your scalp gets relaxed, oil can weigh your hair down if combed right after the process resulting in hair fall.
Many women instantly tie up their hair or make neat braids resulting in hair fall. Our hair remains in a vulnerable state after washing and is weighed down by the oil which will only result in more breakage.
