Although wild animals are usually seen as harmful, and people ‘actively’ try to protect themselves, there are certain animals in the wild whose spotting is a total delight! Here we mention 10 rare animals spotted recently.

Polar bear

Although many would feel what is so special or rare about a Polar bear being spotted, in Iceland one was spotted after 8 long years! Although it did not meet a good fate, the sighting was a nice surprise.

Albino peacock

Peacocks are one of the most colourful and beautiful animals on the planet. But their ‘Albino’ mutation makes them all white, from body to feathers, and they are very rare to spot. Back in 2022, it was spotted in Mizoram, India.

​Pink dolphin

Pink dolphins too are extremely rare to spot and have a certain condition or mutation that gives them a very light-pink shade. Back in July 2023, a pink Dolphin was spotted in Louisiana.

​White giraffe

Spotting a white giraffe is also a rare phenomenon in the wild. While the classic, spotted-brown ones can be seen easily, there in only one white-coloured giraffe and was spotted back in 2020, and had a GPS fitted to its body.

Melanistic jaguar

While ‘Albino’ animals turn all white, the Melanistic ones turn ‘black’. A Melanistic jaguar is usually spotted only once a year.
