Human education initiative launched to create a compassionate society towards animals

Help in Suffering, a pioneering animal welfare organisation in the city has launched humane education initiative aimed at fostering a compassionate society for animals in the region. As part of this initiative, a humane education workshop was organised to train and empower local animal welfare organisations in humane education. The event was organised by HIS Jaipur in collaboration with ‘Peedu’s People’ of Chandigarh.

During the session Humane Education Expert and Founder of 'Peedu's People', Inder Sandhu shared his insights and expertise through two interesting sessions. The event was attended by several animal welfare organisations, animal lovers and NGOs from the city. Recognizing the importance of humane education, HIS is taking this initiative to schools and communities across Jaipur. This was informed by Timmie Kumar, managing trustee of HIS. Along with it sessions were also conducted in various schools to spread awareness among children.

In his session 'Speaking Dogese', Inder Sandhu elaborated on topics like, ‘Understanding Dog’s Body Language’, ‘Safe Interaction with Dogs’, ‘Dog Bite Prevention’, etc. Along with this, he also gave information about facts and myths related to rabies and the importance of anti-rabies vaccination. The second session was on the topic 'Compassionate Citizen', in which Sandhu discussed the principles, basic concepts, and goals of humane education. He said that effective program strategies should be prepared to promote humane education among the people, in which local people as well as school children should be included. Community engagement is crucial to create awareness among people, he stated. He further added that the session was a great opportunity for networking, sharing ideas, and building a base for inculcating more compassion in people. By collectively engaging in humane education, we can all step up our efforts to bring about change and create a city where compassion and caring for all animals are deeply rooted.
