Shraddha Kapoor and
Rajkummar Rao’s Stree 2 is all set to enter the final lap of its box office journey. The trip began on a very high note, where it first beat
Shah Rukh Khan and
Deepika Padukone starrer Chennai Express' record for highest grossing premiere show on 14th August. As the ball set rolling from there on, the film has pretty much rewritten box office records, with highest grossing collections in week 2, 3 and 4.
It also went on to become only the second Hindi film to cross Rs 550 crore box office collection, and 9th Indian film to cross Rs 500 crore mark. At the end of 33 days, the total collection of the film stands at Rs 557.85 crore, making it the second biggest Hindi film of all time, and 6th biggest hit of Indian Cinema.

And co-incidentally, the film standing in the way of Stree 2 to jump one position in both the lists is Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan, directed by Atlee.
In the Hindi category, Jawan is the biggest film with a lifetime collection of Rs 582.31 crore, and Stree 2 requires around Rs 24.50 crore to gain the top position amongst Hindi films. At the way the film is going, with an average of about Rs 3 crore on weekdays, and about Rs 10 to Rs 15 crore over the weekend, by the end of September, Stree 2 is set to become the biggest hit of Hindi Cinema.

Post that, Stree 2 will require another Rs 60 crore to displace Jawan from its position of 5th biggest hit of Indian Cinema with Rs 640.25 crore collection. The top 4 positions are held by films from South of India, Prabhas’ Kalki (Rs 646 crore) on 4th , NTR Jr and Ram Charan’s RRR ( Rs 782 crore) on 3rd , Yash’s KGF 2 ( Rs 859 crore) on 2nd and Prabhas- SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2- The Conclusion ( Rs 1030) on first . At this point, it is unlikely that Stree 2 will be able to break into the top 5 list of Indian Cinema’s biggest hits as many big films like Devara, Jigra, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and Singham Again are lined up in the next couple of months.
