'Saturday Night Live' is gearing up for its landmark 50th season with a star-studded lineup. When the show returns later this month, it will feature appearances by
Ariana Grande,
Billie Eilish, and Chappell Roan, promising an unforgettable start to the historic season.
Recent Emmy-winner Jean Smart will kick off the season premiere of 'SNL' on September 28, joined by musical guest Jelly Roll.
Nate Bargatze will host the October 5 episode with Coldplay performing, followed by Ariana Grande on October 12 with Stevie Nicks as the musical guest.
Michael Keaton takes the stage on October 19, with Billie Eilish performing, and
John Mulaney returns on November 2, featuring breakout star Chappell Roan.
This season of 'Saturday Night Live' will bring back Maya Rudolph, a former cast member, to play Vice President Kamala Harris. CNN has reported that Rudolph will continue to portray Harris at least until the end of the election cycle.
As always, 'SNL' will dive into election season with its trademark political spoofs. However, there’s no word yet on who will portray Republican nominee Donald Trump, his running mate JD Vance, or Kamala Harris’ VP pick Tim Walz. Currently, James Austin Johnson has been playing Trump on the show.
'SNL' first premiered on NBC in 1975. To celebrate its 50th anniversary, a live primetime special will air on February 16 next year. Additionally, a movie about the show's inaugural episode, titled 'Saturday Night,' is set for a nationwide theatrical release next month.
