NAGPUR: For any basketball player in Orange City, the Times Basketball League is the place to be. And when it comes to an Inter-School basketball none is bigger and better than the Times Basketball League.
The third edition of the Times League will start from Tuesday. The format of the tournament is an unique one and is being used only in Times Basketball League.
For the third time in as many years, The Times of India initiative will give the city a unique basketball league.
1x1 polls
Similar to the earlier editions, the Season 3 of the Times Basketball League will be an Inter-School championship which will be played in a format followed in the NBA and football’s English Premier League. Matches will be played in a knock-out-cum-league format and on a Home-and-Away basis.
Participating schools will be allowed to play a game in their school (Home) and then they will be required to visit the opponent school (Away) in the initial stage of the league. Thereafter, the best six teams will be divided into two groups from where the four teams will advance to the semifinal stage followed by the grand finale.
The interest generated by the first two editions saw many schools lining up for the event. So this year, the tournament will have qualifying round post which 12 teams — in both the boys and girls category — will fight it out in the main draw.
