'Stree 2' is creating history with the huge numbers that the film is bringing at the box office. It released on Independence day and the first day collection of the movie, including the paid previews, was Rs 54 crore. It soared higher over the first weekend and even from the first Monday onwards, it has continued to hold steady.
What was shocking was the numbers which the film made even over the second weekend.
It collected Rs 42 crore on its second Sunday which was huge. The drop on Monday was inevitable and the film collected Rs 18.5 crore. However, one may have expected 'Stree 2' to see a slight jump on Tuesday, due to holiday in some parts on Janmashtami. Though, it did not benefit from it and saw a drop further from Monday. According to Sacnilk, the film collected Rs 11.5 crore on Tuesday. The total collection now stands at Rs 414.55 crore at the domestic box office.
The good part about 'Stree 2' is that the film has brought in numbers from the single screens as well as the multiplex going audience. 'Stree 2' had released with 'Khel Khel Mein' and 'Vedaa' but this horror comedy superseeded both these movies by a huge margin and surpassed all expectations.
'Stree 2' directed by Amar Kaushik, also stars Pankaj Tripthi, Abhishek Banerjee and Aparshakti Khurrana as well.
