According to director D K Dileep, the film revolves around the practice of ‘kuruthola perunnal’ aka Palm Sunday, which is a Christian feast day that falls on the Sunday before Easter. It is held in the memory of Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem, and it is also part of the holy week. Dileep says, “In the Northern part of Kerala, people aren’t that familiar with the term ‘kuruthola perunnal.’ Our film, which has both the flavours of romance and comedy, has actor – writer – director Sreenivasan, who plays himself in the film, visiting a church priest who happens to be his friend, and inquiring more about the practice. It will also have a ‘film within a film’ format quite a bit.”
