NEW DELHI: Former BJP MLA Shashi Ranjan Parmar broke down during an interview on Friday after being denied a ticket to contest in the upcoming Haryana assembly elections.
The video shows Parmar being questioned about his exclusion from the candidate list, as he was hoping to secure a BJP candidature from Bhiwani and Tosham constituencies in the state.
When asked about his reaction to being excluded from the candidate list, Parmar found it challenging to maintain his composure, visibly expressing his disappointment.

"I had thought that my name would be on the list..," he said as he broke down and started weeping.

The interviewer tried to offer words of comfort, suggesting that both the party and his constituency would acknowledge his worth eventually. However, Parmar continued to weep, conveying his sense of helplessness and the challenge of facing the people to whom he had promised his candidacy.
"What do I do now? I am helpless," he added.
The Haryana assembly elections are set to take place on October 5, with the results to be announced on October 8.

Following the release of BJP's first list of 67 candidates for the assembly polls, a full-scale rebellion has erupted within the party in Haryana. Several members have quit the party, while others have decided to contest the election as independents.
Rebels include minister and Rania MLA Ranjit Chautala, who resigned from his ministerial post after being denied a ticket, and minister and Indri MLA Karan Dev Kamboj, minister and Bawani Khera MLA Bishambar Valmiki, Ratia MLA Laxman Napa, former minister Kavita Jain from Sonipat, Shamsher Kharkada from Meham, Sukhwinder Sheoran from Badhra, and Gautam Sardana from Hisar.
Haryana chief minister Nayab Singh Saini acknowledged that such outbursts were inevitable, as only one candidate can be given a ticket among several aspirants.
