NEW DELHI: The
BJP is predicted to head towards the lone Lok Sabha seat from Daman & Diu for the third consecutive time with exit polls on Saturday predicting that the party’s candidate Lalubhai Patel will come out on top against Congress’s Ketan Dayabhai Patel.
As per Axis My India's electoral forecast, the Bhartiya Janata Party has an edge over the Congress party in this parliamentary constituency.
The Daman & Diu went to polls on May 7 in the third phase of the Lok Sabha elections.
In the previous general elections of 2019, Daman And Diu witnessed a fiercely contested battle, with a notable 71.83% voter turnout. Lalubhai Babubhai Patel, representing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), emerged victorious with a substantial margin of 9,942 votes, securing a total of 37,597 votes. His closest contender, Ketan Dahyabhai Patel from the Indian National Congress (INC), garnered 27,655 votes.
The candidates for the 2024 elections in Daman And Diu Lok Sabha Constituency have once again captured the public imagination. Lalubhai Patel, representing the BJP, and Ketan Dahyabhai Patel from the INC, stand as prominent contenders, each vying for the support and trust of the electorate.
