Eight green warriors feted at exhibition

Bengaluru : The curtains came down on the Wildlife Week celebrations with the photography exhibition ‘Encounters in the Wild 2.0’ at Chitrakala Parishat concluding on Sunday. The exhibition commemorating the golden jubilee of Project Tiger witnessed thousands of visitors from different walks of life.
Forest minister Eshwar B Khandre lauded the efforts of former additional principal chief conservator of forests MN Jayakumar to drive home the message of wildlife conservation. The programme in collaboration with the forest department witnessed the felicitation of eight green warriors from various forest circles of Karnataka.
“The exhibition was not just a celebration but also a call to action. Visitors ranging from young children to senior citizens were fascinated by the uniqueness of the flora and fauna,” Jayakumar said.
Lectures and interactions on the diverse flora and fauna of both India and the world were held as part of the exhibition. Globally acclaimed wildlife filmmaker S Nallamuthu, who had also shot the TOI Tiger Anthem, had inaugurated the exhibition. The Kannada version of the Tiger Anthem was screened every day during the event.
