Asus launches AI PCs powered by new Intel Core Ultra, Snapdragon X Plus chips

Asus launched a range of new laptops at IFA 2024 in Berlin, featuring Intel Core Ultra and Qualcomm Snapdragon X Plus processors. The models include Zenbook, Vivobook, and ExpertBook series with advanced AI features. These devices promise improved performance, extended battery life, and cater to various professional needs with innovative designs.

Asus has launched a bunch of laptops powered by Intel Core Ultra (Series 2) as well as the Qualcomm Snapdragon X Plus 8-core processors at the Always Incredible Media Day for IFA 2024 in Berlin, Germany. The laptops include Vivobook S 15 and ProArt PZ13 Copilot+ PCs as well as The Zenbook S14 and Zenbook S16 models.

Asus’ new PCs will be powered by the latest Intel Core Ultra processors that boast up to 48 NPU TOPS of AI performance.
As per the company, the new PCs will be among the first to bring on-device AI features to Windows 11 through a free Copilot+ PC update in November.
The lineup includes Zenbook S14 and Zenbook S16 – the ultra-slim and lightweight Asus laptops with OLED displays and Ceraluminum chassis. The company also launched the Vivobook 14 Flip and Vivobook 16 Flip featuring the latest Intel Core Ultra 7 processor in a convertible design.
Asus said that all new Zenbook and Vivobook models will include the company’s StoryCube application, an AI-powered digital asset manager designed to optimise creative workflows.
Asus also introduced the ExpertBook P series, featuring powerful AI capabilities and up to 48 NPU TOPS with Intel Core Ultra 7 processors. These AI PCs target entrepreneurs, prosumers, and small businesses, with features like AI translation, AI subtitles, and assisted meeting summaries. The lineup also includes the ExpertBook P3 and ExpertBook P1, providing reliability and security for various professional needs.

Finally, Asus unveiled the high-performance Asus NUC 14 Pro AI mini PC, powered by up to the latest Intel Core Ultra 9 processor and offering up to 120 total platform TOPS, for commercial use and edge computing applications.
Asus laptops powered by Snapdragon X Plus 8-core chips
Asus launched two new laptops, the Vivobook S 15 and ProArt PZ13, as part of its Copilot+ PC series. These laptops are among the first to utilise the new Snapdragon X Plus 8-core processor that was launched earlier in the day. The laptops are claimed to offer multi-day battery life, enhanced performance, and AI-powered capabilities.
Asus Vivobook S15 features a slim 14.7 mm, 1.42 kg all-metal body and a premium CNC-engraved logo. There is a 15.6-inch 3K 120Hz Asus Lumina OLED display, with 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut and Dolby Atmos audio.
It includes a single-zone RGB backlit keyboard, a dedicated Copilot key for instant access to AI tools — including Copilot, Live Captions, and Cocreator — and an expansive touchpad with intuitive gesture controls.
Its 70Wh battery is claimed to provide up to 19+ hours of use and the laptop comes with fast charging support via Asus USB-C Easy Charge. The laptops come with two USB4 ports, USB 3.2, HDMI 2.1, a microSD slot, and WiFi 7.
Meanwhile, ProArt PZ13 is a lightweight, 0.85 kg, 9mm detachable laptop built for on-the-go creativity and comes with IP52 and military-grade durability. It gets a 3K Asus Lumina OLED touchscreen with stylus support. It gets two USB4 ports and an SD Card reader, a 70Wh battery which is claimed to offer up to 21 hours of FHD video playback.
