After her husband Will Smith smacked Chris Rock over a joke during the 94th Academy Awards, Jada Pinkett Smith shared a cryptic post about healing. Taking to her Instagram handle Jada wrote, "This is a season for healing and I'm here for it." Jada's statement came after Will had issued a public apology for his behaviour. It all started when Chris said he couldn't wait to see Jada Pinkett Smith, who has alopecia, star in 'G.I. Jane 2' which prompted Will Smith to go up on stage and slap Chris. Will even screamed 'Keep my wife’s name out of your mouth.' Later, Will apologized for his behaviour then and there only as he said, 'I want to apologize to the Academy, I want to apologize to all my fellow nominees. This is a beautiful moment, and I’m not crying for winning an award. It’s not about winning an award for me, it’s about being able to shine a light on all the people..the entire cast and crew of King Richard.' Chris also reportedly approached the Smith family after the incident and apologised to them. He reportedly declined to press charges. Meanwhile, in his public apology Will stated, 'Violence in all of its forms is poisonous and destructive. My behavior at last night’s Academy Awards was unacceptable and inexcusable. Jokes at my expense are a part of the job, but a joke about Jada’s medical condition was too much for me to bear and I reacted emotionally. I would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris. I was out of line and I was wrong. I am embarrassed and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be. There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness.' Will also apologised to the prestigious Academy Awards for his act and wrote, 'I would also like to apologize to the Academy, the producers of the show, all the attendees and everyone watching around the world. I would like to apologize to the Williams Family and my King Richard Family. I deeply regret that my behavior has stained what has been an otherwise gorgeous journey for all of us. I am a work in progress. Sincerely, Will'. For more news & updates, stay tuned to ETimes.
