Will Smith’s old video clips of slapping news reporter and making fun of a bald man go viral as netizens call out the actor

There’s a reason they say that the internet is a tricky place! Days after the slap-gate incident between Will Smith and Chris Rock at the Oscars, netizens have dug up old video clips of Will in which he can be seen making fun of a bald man and smacking a man in the face. The first video which is from the actor’s appearance on ‘The Arsenio Hall Show’ in 1991 is trending on Twitter. In the video, Will can be seen joking with the bass player on the show who happened to be bald. Will can be heard saying, ‘The bass player? He got a rule. He got to wax his head every morning. That's a rule! He follows the rules, man. He follows the rules’. While the bassist laughed it off, the show’s audience found Will’s joke mean to which he responded saying, ‘These are jokes, come on’. Interestingly, the bass player John B Williams confirmed to an American entertainment portal recently that he did not take the joke seriously then, and laughed it off. He also explained that even though the two jokes were similar, his baldness is not caused by alopecia like Will Smith’s wife Jada Pinkett. In another old video that has surfaced on Twitter, Will Smith can be seen slapping a prankster/news reporter at the promotional event of his film ‘Men in Black 3’ in 2012. The video sees the reporter trying to kiss Will after hugging him on the red carpet, to which Will responds by smacking his face with the back of his hand and says, ‘What the hell is your problem man?’Now netizens are calling out Will Smith by linking both these videos with the recent Oscars incident. Some of them even called him a ‘repeat offender’. At the Oscar Awards 2022, stand-up comedian/host Chris Rock cracked a joke on Will Smith’s wife Jada Pinkett’s baldness (which is due to alopecia) and that didn’t go down well with the actor who went on stage and slapped Chris. Will Smith, who bagged the Best Actor Award this year, came out with an apology for Chris Rock and the Academy for his behavior at the award function. In the latest, the Academy announced that it does not "condone violence of any form" and is conducting an investigation to decide whether this year's Best Actor should face consequences.
