Mumbai division stays at bottom in HSC, improves performance compared to last year

Mumbai division of the HSC exams ranked lowest with a 91.95% pass rate, showing a 4% improvement from last year. The exams had 15 lakh students enrolled, with Mumbai having over 1.59 lakh students, followed by Thane with over a lakh students.

MUMBAI: The Mumbai division was at the bottom of the nine zones in the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) exams for the third year in a row with a pass percentage of 91.95%. However, compared to last year’s 88.13%, the Mumbai division improved its performance by four per cent.
This is the last of the class 12 results announced in the state on Tuesday.Both CBSE and ISC results were announced early this month.
The exams held over a month beginning February 21 had the highest enrollment of 15 lakh students in the state since 2018. Over 1.59 lakh students from Mumbai took the exams, followed by Thane with over a lakh students. The Mumbai division, which has the maximum number of over three lakh students, comprises Mumbai, Thane, Palghar and Raigad. The Mumbai division reported the least copying cases (nine) across the nine divisions in the HSC exams. Over 190 copying cases were reported in the state. Copying cases were reported in physics, maths and economics papers. No paper-leak was reported this year.
HSC exams (including online Information Technology and General Knowledge) ended on Mar 23. The Out-Of-Turn exams for those who missed out on practicals, orals, internal assessments for medical and valid reasons was held from Mar 27 to 30.

Students who could not clear all their papers will get another chance at the supplementary exams to be held in July-August. The exam dates will be announced later. Class Improvement Scheme exams for passed students to better their scores will also be held. Forms for supplementary exams can be filled online from May 27.
The photocopies of the answer booklets and verification of marks will be available online from May 22 to June 5. Those seeking re-evaluation will have to apply online on http://verification.mh-hsc.ac.in within five days after receipt of photocopies of answer booklets. It can be done by the student directly or through his/her college.
