RRB NTPC Recruitment 2024 notification out: The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have announced the recruitment for Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) for both undergraduate and graduate posts under the RRB NTPC 2024. This recruitment drive will cover a total of 11,558 vacancies.
Detailed notifications, namely CEN 05/2024 and CEN 06/2024, will soon be published on the official websites of the RRBs and the Railway Recruitment Control Board (RRCB).
The application forms for RRB NTPC 2024 will be accepted online at rrbapply.gov.in. Additionally, an offline notification for these non-technical posts has been released in the Employment News.
The RRBs have also announced the complete schedule for the online application process. According to the Railway NTPC Notification 2024, candidates interested in graduate-level posts can apply online from September 14 to October 13, 2024.
For undergraduate-level posts, the online application process will be open from September 21 to October 20, 2024. Any updates on these dates will be reflected in the table provided on the official website.

RRB NTPC Recruitment 2024 notification: Eligibility criteria
To be eligible for the RRB NTPC 2024 examination, candidates must possess the required educational qualifications for the respective posts. For posts such as Goods Train Manager, Chief Commercial cum Ticket Supervisor, Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Account Assistant cum Typist, and Station Master, applicants must hold a graduate degree from a recognized university or its equivalent. For positions like Junior Clerk cum Typist, Accounts Clerk cum Typist, Trains Clerk, and Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, candidates need to have passed the 12th standard from a recognized school or its equivalent and must possess typing proficiency in Hindi or English on a computer.
RRB NTPC Recruitment 2024 notification: Detailed examination pattern
The RRB NTPC Stage-1 examination will be a Computer-Based Test (CBT) of a screening nature, aligned with the educational standards prescribed for the posts. The exam duration for candidates with disabilities (PWD) is set at 120 minutes. The test will have negative marking, with a deduction of one-third of a mark for each incorrect answer.
Candidates will be shortlisted at 20 times the community-wise vacancies of posts, based on their merit in the 1st Stage CBT and their choice of posts. The normalized score from the 1st Stage CBT will be used to shortlist candidates for the 2nd Stage CBT.
The RRB NTPC Stage-1 CBT will comprise 100 questions divided into three sections: Mathematics (30 questions), General Intelligence and Reasoning (30 questions), and General Awareness (40 questions), with a total exam duration of 90 minutes.
The minimum percentage marks for eligibility across various categories are 40% for UR and EWS, 30% for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) and SC, and 25% for ST. There may be a relaxation of up to 2% for PwBD candidates if there is a shortage against reserved vacancies.

Candidates qualifying for the 2nd Stage CBT under reserved categories such as OBC(NCL), SC, ST, EWS, PwBD, and ExSM will continue to be considered under their respective categories throughout the recruitment process. The exam duration for PwD candidates will remain 120 minutes, and there will be a negative marking scheme similar to Stage-1.

RRB NTPC Recruitment 2024 notification: Typing Skill Test (TST) and Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT)
The Typing Skill Test (TST) is qualifying in nature, and candidates must type 30 words per minute (WPM) in English or 25 WPM in Hindi on a personal computer without using editing tools or spell-check facilities. For the Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT), which is applicable only to candidates opting for the posts of Traffic Assistant and Station Master, a minimum T-score of 42 marks in each test battery is required to qualify. The merit list for these positions will be prepared with 70% weightage given to the 2nd Stage CBT marks and 30% to the CBAT marks.
RRB NTPC Recruitment 2024 notification: What is the salary structure?
The RRB NTPC posts are classified into Graduate and Undergraduate categories, each with distinct initial pay scales as per the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC). For undergraduate posts, the salary for Junior Clerk cum Typist, Accounts Clerk cum Typist, and Trains Clerk is set at Rs 19,900 per month, while the Commercial cum Ticket Clerk receives Rs 21,700 per month. Graduate-level posts have higher pay scales: the Goods Train Manager and Junior Account Assistant cum Typist receive Rs 29,200 per month, while the Chief Commercial cum Ticket Supervisor and Station Master are paid Rs 35,400 per month.
Employees in both categories are entitled to additional benefits such as Dearness Allowance (DA), Transport Allowance (TA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), a Pension Scheme, and Medical Benefits.
