Prayagraj: A total of 7864 tentative examination centers have been determined in the state this year for conducting the High School and Intermediate examinations of the year 2024 of the UP Secondary Education Board.
Thus, compared to 8753 examination centers determined last year, this year the number of centers has been reduced and there will be 889 less centers.
“By creating fewer examination centres, effective monitoring of examination centers will be possible”, says the secretary, UP Board Dibyakant Shukla.
The number of tentative examination centers, designated by category of schools for the exam scheduled for the year 2024 includes 1017 government schools, 3537 government-aided schools and 3310 non-aided schools. Thus, bringing the total number of exam centers to 7864.
Earlier, the Board had announced that the practical exam of intermediate will be conducted in two phases in the state.
In the first phase, practical exams would be held from January 25, 2024 to February 01, 2024 in Agra, Saharanpur, Bareilly Lucknow, Jhansi, Chitrakoot, Faizabad Azamgarh, Devipatan, and Basti divisions of the board.
Likewise, in the second phase, practical exams will be held between February 2, 2024 to February 9 in schools under Aligarh, Meerut, Moradabad, Kanpur, Prayagraj, Mirzapur Varanasi and Gorakhpur division.
Like last year, high school practical examinations will be conducted on the basis of internal assessment (project work) at the school level.
The pre-board practical examination of class 12 to be conducted at the school level will be conducted by the school principals from January 05, 2024 to January 12, 2024.
This year, for high school and intermediate exams, scheduled to start from February next year, a total of 55,08,206 students have completed the registration process. In the last academic session, exam for which was held earlier this year, 58,84,634 students had registered, which means that 3,76,428 less students have registered for board exams 2024.
