Tovino Thomas praises Prithviraj Sukumaran as director: "One of the brilliant directors I have ever worked with"

As Tovino Thomas gears up for the release of his highly anticipated project ‘Ajayante Randam Moshanam’, he took time to reflect on his experience working with Prithviraj Sukumaran, who is directing him in the upcoming film ‘L2: Empuraan’.

In a recent promotional interview, Tovino shared his admiration for Prithviraj’s directorial skills, describing him as one of the most brilliant directors he has ever collaborated with.

Tovino spoke highly of Prithviraj’s approach to directing, stating, “I have been saying this to every director. Mr. Prithviraj is one of the most brilliant directors I have ever worked with. When working with him, I can be relaxed. I don’t have to stress out.” He elaborated on how Prithviraj’s directorial debut, ‘Lucifer’, provided him with significant visibility, and he approached the film effortlessly due to the director’s effective methods.
Tovino praised Prithviraj for his meticulous attention to detail and his understanding of an actor’s needs. “He is also an actor and knows the thought process of an actor. Prithviraj knows how to get the best or whatever he wants from an actor,” Tovino remarked. He highlighted how Prithviraj ensures that everything on set, from lighting to props, is perfectly arranged before calling the actors for their scenes.
Describing the director’s precision, Tovino noted how Prithviraj would make small adjustments and corrections without causing unnecessary delays. “When I come there to perform, I say this line and I blink in between. Rajuvettan says, ‘Cut, Tovino blink,’ and then does the same thing again. Immediately he says roll camera and I can hear the sound of the camera rolling,” Tovino explained.
The ‘ARM’ actor further said that Prithviraj’s meticulous preparation allows for a smooth shooting process, minimizing disruptions and ensuring that actors can focus on their performances.
