CM Punk will serve as a special guest referee in NXT
CM Punk is one of the top names in WWE and has been enjoying extensive focus in his feud with Drew McIntyre. Amid his ongoing feud, the Chicago native is set to serve as a special guest referee in NXT as the brand debuts CW.
On the September 17 episode of WWE NXT, CM Punk made an appearance and hinted that he had something in mind for his upcoming role. However, before he could fully reveal his plans, Roxanne Perez interrupted the segment, leaving fans in suspense. Later in the show, NXT Champion Ethan Page and Trick Williams faced off during a contract signing for their highly anticipated title match set for October 1.
As tensions rose between the two competitors, Punk re-emerged, declaring that the bout was too significant to proceed without a special referee. He confidently announced that he would step in as the official for the match, setting the stage for an explosive showdown. Punk then amped up the rivalry by encouraging both Page and Williams to throw down right then and there. A chaotic brawl started right after and officials struggled to separate the two. Punk’s involvement has built even more anticipation for the CW debut of NXT in Chicago.
Adding to the high anticipation, the CW debut will also feature WWE superstar The Miz for a special episode of Miz TV as confirmed by NXT Television, General Manager Ava. Next week on October 8, Randy Orton is also set to have a match for the brand.
