The Tamil film 'Indian 2' was released in theaters on July 12, and it received mixed responses from audiences. The movie is the sequel to the 1996 cult classic drama, and Kamal Haasan reprises his role as Senapathi. Directed by Shankar, the movie features Kamal Haasan, Siddharth, Bobby Simha, RakulPreet Singh, Priya Bhavani Shanka, SJ Suryah, and Kalidas Jayaram, among others, and the music for it is composed by Anirudh Ravichander.

The film was released in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi, and it made Rs 150 crore at the box office. The movie did not receive as much acclaim as expected, and the fans are now looking forward to Shankar's next project, hoping that it will be better. Meanwhile, the film's digital rights have been sold, and it is said to premiere on the international OTT platform Netflix from next month. The official premiere date is yet to be confirmed.
On the work front, Kamal Haasan is now shooting for his next film with director Mani Ratnam. Titled 'Thug Life', the period action drama has him playing Rangaraya Sakthivel Naicker, and the film's cast includes Abhirami, Nasser, Simbu, Ashok Selvan, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Gautham Karthik, Joju George, Pankaj Tripathi, Sanya Malhotra, and Ali Fazal. The music for it is composed by AR Rahman.
