WWE Hall of Famer and former World Heavyweight Champion, Booker T is often heard giving his honest opinions about several topics related to Pro wrestling and WWE in particular. He is with the WWE as a commentator on the NXT Brand currently. Booker keeps providing anecdotes about his days in the wrestling business and about the current dynamics too. Recently in his “Hall of Fame Podcast”, ‘King Booker’(as he was famously called)compared a prominent NXT Superstar with the legendary Bill Goldberg.
Booker T talks about Oba FemiThe commentator has opened up about current NXT North American Champion Oba Femi’s current run and drawn parallels with former WWE Champion Goldberg. The pace with which Oba has found success in NXT and his recent success as the North American NXT Champion, has made King Booker compare him with another WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg. Femy has been holding the North American Championship for nearly 250 days now and the praise that he is receiving from all ends is all worth it. He had won the NXT’s annual Breakout tournament, before achieving success as the NXT North American Champion.
Comparison with GoldbergWhile appreciating Femi, Booker T stated “I kind of compare him to someone like Goldberg. Somebody that was indestructible, I mean a guy that could go out there and just run the table. Only thing that’s different is Oba Femi is actually getting a lot more in-ring time, actually feeling the work side out, a whole lot more than Goldberg. Being a big guy, very very impressive, looks like he is unbeatable, unstoppable. He’s got all of those qualities, but there again, I think from his infancy stages, he is learning what it means to go out there and really truly learn the business”.
While heaping praise on the North American NXT Champion , Booker also recalled his WCW days and how he enjoyed the work he did with Goldberg. He revealed that he would not have allowed any other superstar to defeat him, other than Goldberg in the company. He also said that Goldberg is one of the very few friends he has in the Pro Wrestling industry and he would pick Bill’s call anytime he calls.
