As per several sources, one can hear the painful cries of those mine workers to this day. There have been numerous instances where the locals and tourists have allegedly come across ghostly apparitions, unexplainable lights and eerie voices.
Following the tragic event, the mines were eventually abandoned.
For those curious, Lambi Dehar Mines is located approximately 10 km from the famous Mussoorie Mall Road. The place is incredibly scenic with pine trees all around and mist enveloping the area most of the time.
Paranormal sleuths aside, more-than-enthusiastic aficionados have also come up with a couple more angles to the haunting of the mines. Some believe the 50,000 dead workers, and some say the mines are haunted by the spirits of separated lovers and even a witch! We’ll never really know.
