Ajmer: Less than 50% candidates appeared for the general knowledge examination to select assistant professors, librarians and physical training instructors (PTIs) on Sunday in seven districts of the state. The exam went peacefully and no incident of any disturbance or cheating was reported to the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC).
Chief examination controller Ashutosh Gupta said that the exam was conducted from 12pm to 2pm in the afternoon in Ajmer, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Bharatpur, Kota and Udaipur.
A total 1,97,766 candidates had registered for the examination. But only 98,601 candidates or 49.86% appeared for the same.
While it was 57.10% in Jodhpur, it stood at 56.67% in Jaipur, Bikaner 54.28%, Ajmer 48.52% , Bharatpur 48.39%, Bikaner 54.28%, Kota 38.92% and Udaipur 33.86%. Candidates were thoroughly checked before they entered the examination centre. The control room of RPSC got regular feedback and videos from various examination centres while the exam was in progress.
