Vizianagaram is gearing up for the annual Sirimanotsavam of Goddess Pyditalli, anticipating about five lakh devotees on October 15. The festivities start with Tolella utsavam on October 14 and continue with Teppotsavam on October 22. To ensure safety, officials will install around 80 CCTV cameras connected to a command control center.
Restoring traffic on the 45 km stretch from GK Veedhi to Sileru in Alluri Sitarama Raju district has become a major challenge for officials following heavy rains that caused extensive damage. Seven bridges were washed away, and landslides occurred at 15 locations. While light vehicles can now pass, buses and heavy vehicles are still not permitted due to weakened infrastructure.
