Visakhapatnam: Gaiety and pomp marked Independence Day celebrations at various public sector units in Visakhapatnam. The tricolour flag was hoisted at Vizag Steel Plant (VSP), Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL), Dredging Corporation of India Limited (DCIL), and others.
At the Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited, the corporate entity of Vizag Steel Plant, CMD Atul Bhatt spoke about the global economic growth and predicted advanced economies to accelerate growth from 1.6% in 2023 to 1.7% in 2024.He said world steel forecasts that this year’s demand would see a 1.7% rebound to reach 1,793 million tonnes.
The Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA) chairman Dr. M Angamuthu announced that VPA, in collaboration with NHAI and Railways, is set to invest around ₹300 crore in various projects aimed at improving the lives of people in Vizag.
