VISAKHAPATNAM: The Indian Institute of Petroleum and Energy (IIPE) laid the foundation stone for its central administrative block at the permanent campus coming up in Vangali near Sabbavaram.
Presiding over the groundbreaking ceremony, Professor Shalivahan, the director of IIPE, said that the block will serve as the backbone of IIPE, providing the necessary administrative support to their academic and research endeavours.
“It is a crucial milestone in our journey towards becoming a leading institution in the field of petroleum and energy," said Professor Shalivahan.
The Registrar, Ramphal Dwivedi, echoed these sentiments, highlighting the positive impact the new facility will have on the institute's operations. "The central administrative block will not only enhance our efficiency but also create a more conducive environment for both staff and students," he remarked.
The ceremony was attended by faculty members, non-teaching staff, officials from the central public works department (CPWD), and representatives from the construction agency, KPC Projects Ltd. All expressed their commitment to ensuring the timely and high-quality completion of the project, aligning with IIPE's vision and standards.
IIPE is currently being operated from a transit campus in Andhra University. The institute is planning to move to its permanent campus being developed in Vangali by next academic year.
