Nine held for attempt to sell 5-month-old girl in Vizag
Visakhapatnam: Police arrested nine persons for allegedly trying to sell a five-month-old baby girl near Daspalla Hills in the city.
According to police, a lab technician was in contact with a ward boy in the CT scan department at KG Hospital in the city. They used to offer money to persons who come for scanning if they were ready to sell their child.
The lab technician offered ₹2 lakh to a couple for selling their child.

Based on a tip-off, police rescued the baby girl. Police shifted the girl and her mother to KG Hospital for treatment. They also seized two blank cheques and six mobile phones from the accused. A case was registered under 143(4) of BNS (trafficking of a child). Police suspect that a few others were also involved in the case.
