Pilibhit: Nineteen people sustained burn injuries when a pole in the tractor-trolley they were travelling in came in contact with a high-tension wire near Kaimor village on Friday. The pole was erected to support a tent inside the vehicle.
The injured were rushed to a CHC in Neoria. They were later taken to the district hospital in Pilibhit, said Dr Prateek Dahiya, the CO of Sadar.
Three of them were referred to a higher medical facility in Bareilly in view of their critical condition, said Dr Alok Kumar, chief medical officer.
All the 19 injured hail from Rasoola village. They were on their way to Bhara Pachpeda village when the incident took place.
Sub-divisional magistrate, Amaria circle, Ajit Pratap Singh, said, “I have sought an explanation from the electricity department over the low-hanging wire near the accident site. They will face legal action if the height of the wire is found to be lower than the standard limits”.
