Vedanta Aluminium engages 1,500 in water conservation efforts in Odisha
Vedanta Aluminium celebrated World Water Week in Kalahandi district, Odisha, engaging over 1,500 community members in various water conservation activities. The week-long event focused on improving water access and quality in the region through several initiatives.
The company organized pond cleaning in more than five villages in the Thuamul Rampur block and tubewell sanitation in over ten locations across Kalahandi, including Panbhata, Nakrundi, and Singini.

Around 300 participants took part in competitions held to promote water conservation across three villages.
The company has previously deepened and cleaned ponds in Uperkanta and Jharpalam villages.
Sujata Majhi, Sarpanch of Gunpur Panchayat, acknowledging the importance of these activities in improving the community’s water situation. Purna Chandra Majhi, Principal of Mohangiri Primary School, also expressed gratitude for the awareness sessions conducted for students.
