CHENNAI: Students who appeared for Class X English exam on Monday were confused due to a printing error in the one mark questions.
The first six questions earmarked for synonyms and antonyms. While the first three questions clearly mentioned synonyms, the question paper did not say it clearly on answering the antonym before the question numbers 4, 5 and 6.
"The answers for these questions include both synonyms and antonyms. So, the students were confused while answering. This confusion in the part I could have avoided," a teacher in a Chennai school said.
Teachers demanded full marks for students who attended the questions. According to the question paper pattern, the part I includes both synonyms and antonyms.
Officials said it was the printing mistake and they would consider awarding marks for students who attended the questions.
The Directorate of Government Exams asked the examiners to award five marks for Class XII students who have attended 47 (b) question in maths as there was a printing mistake.
