‘Need permanent solution’: Disrepair of roads in Sec 47 draws residents’ ire
Gurgaon: The deteriorating condition of a 10km stretch of internal road network in Sector 47 due to neglect and inadequate repair has drawn the ire of residents.
Last resurfaced in 2018, the roads have become riddled with potholes and cracks. The recent spells of rain have only exacerbated the situation, with waterlogging causing further damage to the already dilapidated roads, residents said.
The drainage work carried out two years ago, which was supposed to address flooding in the area, has left residents exasperated as the superficial repairs left the roads in disrepair and added to the civic woes.

Residents said there has been no solution despite repeated complaints to MCG, making daily commutes a nightmare for drivers and pedestrians alike.
Ravinder Beniwal, a resident, said, "It becomes difficult for the motorists to gauge the depth of potholes in waterlogged streets. Two-wheelers often lose their balance while navigating uneven surfaces. Roads have been dug up for drainage or cable laying, but no proper repairs have been ensured."
The residents have urged the MCG to take immediate action and resurface the internal roads in the area.
Virender Tyagi, RWA president of Sector 47, said, "All MCG does is fill the potholes with gravel after repeated complaints. But this is not a solution as gravel starts dislodging and once it rains, potholes reappear. We have been dealing with poor road conditions for years. Every time we complain, all we get are false assurances. Now the MCG must act and provide a permanent solution."
Meanwhile, the executive engineer of MCG, Sanjeev Kumar, said, "We have been maintaining the roads through patch repair. However, I will get the matter checked and if required, will prepare the estimate for the same."
