GURGAON: The Haryana Board of School Education has decided to deny giving detailed marks certificates (DMC) to students at schools whose teachers skip invigilation duty. Teachers will now be imposed a Rs 5,000 fine for their absence. The private school teachers have in turn threatened to launch an agitation if the decision is not revoked.
Many parents complain that the board’s decision is unreasonable.
The teachers, meanwhile, believe it is illogical and arbitrary to impose fines individually on them.
According to the federation of private schools’ welfare association, the government should review and reconsider the policy for its ethical and legal implications. The president of the association, Kulbhushan Sharma said the matter has been brought up to the notice of both the education minister Kanwar Pal Singh and the board chairman VP Yadav.
