Teen ‘kills’ father over family dispute in Gossaigaon

GUWAHATI: In a shocking incident, an 18-year-old boy allegedly killed his father in the Gossaigaon area of Kokrajhar district on Sunday.
The teenager allegedly killed his 55-year-old father, Darbesh Ali, at their home in Jamunatari village of Gossaigaon, while other family members were not present.
Gossaigaon police station OC said, “Preliminary investigations suggest that the father and son had unresolved issues.The deceased reportedly used to physically abuse his wife, which strained his relationship with his son. On Sunday afternoon, while other family members were away, a heated argument broke out between the two. The son struck his father on the head with an axe, resulting in his death. Further probe is underway to determine the exact cause of the altercation.”
