Rowdy-sheeter attacks cops, shot at
Hubballi: Late on Sunday night, arowdy-sheeter who assaulted the police and attempted to flee, was shot in the leg on the road of Budarasinghi village, located on the city's outskirts. PSI Vishwanath of Kasabapeth police station fired the shot that injured the accused, identified as Aftab Karadigudda. N Shashi Kumar, the commissioner of police, said: “The injured police personnel, namely Raju Rathod, N Palayya and Hazrat Rampur have been admitted to KIMS hospital in the city for treatment.” The incident was linked to a late-night altercation on Sunday between two groups of rowdy sheeters at Byahatti Plot in Sadarasofa, which falls under the jurisdiction of Kasabapeth police station.

The confrontation, stemming from an old dispute, left a man named Jawoor Bepari with serious injuries. Both sides lodged complaints and counter-complaints at the Kasabapeth police station. In connection with the case, the police took six accused into custody. Upon receiving information that Aftab Karadigudda, one of the accused, was in the vicinity of Budarasinghi, the police tried to apprehend him.
