Indore: A doctor and his friend were looted of cash and gold jewellery and attacked by a group of youths when the duo refused to give them money to consume alcohol in Rau area. The youths also hurled stones at them and vandalised their car.
DCP Vinod Meena said that the loot took place late on Monday when Dr Shivarth Pandey and his friend Aditya Patel were going from Sudama Nagar to Masala Nation Restaurant in their car.Around 10.15 pm, they stopped the car near a bridge in front of New York City. Some youths arrived there on bikes, took their car keys, and demanded money for alcohol. When Dr Shivarth and Aditya refused, the assailants threw stones at them, causing injuries to their heads, hands, and legs.
The police said that during the scuffle, the doctor’s gold chain, gold bracelet, cash, ATM card, and wristwatch were stolen. The car windows were also broken by stones. Dr Pandey said that while fleeing, the attackers called one of their accomplices by the name Jongi. Based on this information, the police have begun searching for the suspects.
Rau police said that on the complaint of Dr Pandey, a case was registered against the youth under sections related to extortion and assault.
