DC inspects kambala field
Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada deputy commissioner Mullai Muhilan MP inspected the kambala field in front of Guthu Mane at Pilikula, as part of the preparations for the upcoming kambala event.
District Kambala Samiti president Deviprasad Shetty said plans are underway to revive kambala at Pilikula after several years. Plans are also in place to organise a five-day Tulu Utsava here .
If everything goes well as per the plan, then Pilikula Kambala will be govt-sponsored kambala under the presidentship of the DC, said Shetty.
As per the calendar of the Samiti, Pilikula Kambala is scheduled for Nov 9.
MLC Manjunath Bhandari had appealed to the CM to host Kambala Utsava at Pilikula under the direction of the district minister. Muda commissioner Noor Zahara Khanam, Alva’s Education Foundation chairman M Mohan Alva, along Kambala Samiti office-bearers and referees, were also present during the inspection.
